Frans Schuursma

1938, Amsterdam

Trying to break out of the common mold of painting since the 1950s, Schuursma follows a quest towards personal happiness and the end of worries. Influenced by the surrealism of Max Ernst and by expressionism, he paints an increasingly personal view of the world, an impressionist and symbolist work that can only enlighten the viewer.

S'efforçant de quitter les tendances traditionnelles depuis 1950, Schuursma est en quête de bonheur personnel, loin des tracasseries quotidiennes. Influencé par Max Ernst et l'expressionnisme, il peint des oeuvres de plus en plus marquées par sa vision du monde, dont la portée esthétique et l'humour enchantent le spectateur.
